Tottenham Hotspur travel to Greece on Thursday to face Asteras Tripolis in the second leg of the group stage clash. Spurs currently top Group C joint with Besiktas and could do with a strong victory this week to help their European campaign.

When these two sides met a fortnight ago, Mauricio Pochettino’s men dominated in a 5-1 thrashing with Harry Kane scoring an impressive hat-trick.

The 21-year-old, who has now scored nine goals in 13 appearances will be a top contender for a starting spot ahead of more senior players such as Emmanuel Adebayor or Roberto Soldado.

It was Kane who secured the victory in Tottenham’s Premier League match against Villa on Sunday, scoring a late free kick to help the visitors steal a 2-1 win.

Spurs midfielder Nacer Chadli is convinced that Kane is destined for big things, despite never having heard of him before he joined the club.

“I can see that he is a very talented man and I can see that he has a great future,” he told reporters on Monday.

It was Chadli who netted the other last-minute goal in Spurs’ victory against Villa on Saturday.

Pochettino’s men face more of a challenge than the last leg would suggest when they travel to Greece this week as their opponents, Asteras Tripolis, are undefeated at home this season. The Greek side’s loss at White Hart Lane two weeks ago is their only defeat in eleven matches.

Asteras are just one point behind Spurs in Group C so a victory for the hosts could throw a spanner in the works for Tottenham’s campaign with just two games remaining.

Staikos Vergetis will be without Ederson Tormena, Ritchie Kitoko and Dimitris Kourbelis which could weaken Asteras’ defence.

Spurs’ Kyle Naughton and Nabil Bentaleb are both doubtful for the visitors as they continue to recover from injuries.

Asteras Tripolis vs Tottenham Betting Tips

Asteras Tripolis may be strong with a home advantage but Tottenham remain the bookies favourites in this clash. Tottenham to win and both teams to score is attractive at 5/2 at Betway.

Harry Kane will be keen to impress, particularly with the prospect of an England call-up hanging in the balance, and looks good at 7/1 to score at least 2 goals at William Hill.
