Premier Division leaders Barcelona appear confident ahead of the first leg of their semi-final clash against Bayern Munich this Wednesday.

Former Barca boss Pep Guardiola returns to Camp Nou where he won 14 trophies while in charge, but club president Josep Maria Bartomeu is not worried.

“Although he did a spectacular job when he was at Barca, we cannot get distracted,” he said.

“Once the game is over, I’m sure we will see each other in the changing rooms.”

Guardiola’s success has continued since his move to Bayern, claiming two Bundesliga titles and the Club World Cup in 2013.

Bayern are boosted by the return of Javi Martinez from a knee injury at the weekend and a good performance from the defender will help to hold off Barca’s attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.

“The knee is good. Levekusen was a good test for me and now I’m ready to help my team in the next game,” said Martinez. “Whether I play or not depends on the coach.

“Stopping Messi, Neymar and Suarez will be very difficult but we are not afraid. If we want to win, we can’t allow ourselves to be afraid. We have a big heart and we have a big goal.”

Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski has been included in the squad to face Barcelona despite serious facial fractures incurred during the game against Borussia Dortmund last week. The Polish striker will feature with a mask to protect his injured nose and jaw. Franck Ribery (ankle) is less likely to be part of the squad.

For Barcelona a victory on Wednesday would set them on track for their first Champions League final in four years.

Two points clear ahead of rivals Real Madrid in the Liga, Barca are in impressive form, winning 15 of their last 16 games across all competitions. Messi has increased his season tally to 40 after finding the net at the weekend.

The visitors will have a tough time facing Barca at Camp Nou and will be hoping for a draw in order to take the victory at the Allianz Arena in the second leg next week.
