Betfred Expands Rugby League SponsorshipBookmakers based in the United Kingdom now officially sponsor all three main tiers of English Rugby League.  This after the recent announcement that Betfred had expanded their existing sponsorship of the Super League to include both the Championship as well as the League 1 competitions as well.  The partnership arrangement between Betfred and the Rugby Football League will remain in power until 2019.

The sponsorship deal is beneficial to the bookmaker because it will now enjoy advertising exposure on all of the in-stadium perimeter signage that is displayed at the Championship and League 1 matches, in addition to the existing ones displayed at all Super League matches.

Betfred will also act as main sponsor for the Summer Bash, which consists of a weekend jam-packed with a series of Championship matches. All six of the live Summer Bash matches are broadcast live on Sky Sports, which makes for excellent exposure of the bookmaker’s brand.

No Hesitation Regarding Expansion

Betfred big boss Fred Done said of the ongoing and extended partnership, that Betfred’s initial year of partnership with the Rugby Football League had been such a roaring success, that there was no hesitation on the part of the bookmaker to extend the sponsorship onwards to 2019, as well as to include the additional two tiers.

Rugby Football League Chief Executive Ralph Rimmer shares Done’s enthusiasm about the expansion of the sponsorship partnership, saying that Betfred’s ongoing and expanded involvement clearly shows that the bookmaker values Rugby League as a sport and that this passion and enthusiasm is evident from the way in which they handle all sponsorship deals. Rimmer said that the Betfred Championship was one of the most diverse Rugby League competitions in the world. The competition includes teams from all over the globe, including Toronto, London and France.  Rimmer said that he felt sure that both partners involved in the agreement would continue to go from strength to strength as a result of the quality of the competition.

With two years remaining on the existing partnership agreement involving the Super League, it’s obvious that the bookmaker is convinced that their involvement with Rugby League is the best thing for them and that continuing with all three tiers going forward will afford even more exposure and opportunities to their growing repertoire.

Fred Done has described the initial year of sponsorship as having been nothing short of a fantastic experience.
