Betting Tips: Weekend PreviewJake Cooper | 12 Oct 2016
There is a cracking weekend of Premier League football coming up and as usual I’ll be taking a look at the pick of the weekend’s fixtures, sticking my neck out and bringing you the best betting tips so you can enjoy your weekend of sport even more.
Manchester United vs Burnley
The action gets underway on Saturday afternoon at Turf Moor where Burnley will be hosting United. Still reeling from THAT game against MK Dons, the Red Devils are enduring their worst start to the season since the inaugural Premier League season way back in 1992-93.
While van Gaal’s men have been poor they should still have the goods to overpower The Clarets. Burnley are priced 5/1 to win, but a better betting tip for this game is the attractive 4/1 odds Betway are offering on a drawn game with both teams scoring. Burnley have conceded a goal in 29 of their last Premier League Games while United have their own defensive frailties at the back.
Everton vs Chelsea
The Blues travel to Goodison Park second on the log after two games and knowing that Everton have won four of their last five home games against them. Everton are likely to go all out for the win on Saturday evening but have shown signs of weakness in defence making this one tough to call.
If you’re betting, I like the look of Paddy Power’s 6/4 odds on Everton to win as well as the 12/5 odds being offered on Samuel Eto’o scoring anytime against his former club.
Tottenham vs Liverpool
Log toppers Tottenham are flying high after two games and meet Liverpool at White Hart Lane in the pick of the Sunday games. Mauricio Pochettino will welcome back his big guns having rested senior players for Thursday’s Europa League win over AEL Limassol.
For Liverpool the news centres around the arrival of bad boy Mario Balotelli from Milan. Will Brendan Rodgers deploy the Italian up front in a bid to boost his attack?
Spurs struggled against the Reds last year, losing both fixtures while conceding nine unanswered goals. They’ll be looking to turn things around this Sunday and I think Betway’s 8/5 odds on the W/D/W for Spurs offers good value.
Feeling flush? A cheeky bet on Mario Balotelli to be first goal scorer is priced at 5/1, what chance the big striker makes an equally big statement on his return to English football?
To recap, here is my Triple for the Weekend, best of luck!
United and Burnley to draw with both teams scoring
Everton to beat Chelsea
Spurs to take the honours against Liverpool
