Major online sports betting and games operator GVC-owned bwin has confirmed that it has extended its sponsorship partnership with Spanish La Liga football club, Atletico Madrid. The operator will provisionally continue to sponsor Atletico Madrid for a further two seasons, the 2018-2019 season as well as the 2019-2020 season.
As with all sponsorship agreements, both sides will benefit. Atletico Madrid from the actual sponsorship and bwin from the placement of branding elements on advertising boards and banners at all of Atletico Madrid’s home games.
The Value Of Joint Initiatives
The sponsorship agreement between Atletico Madrid and bwin commenced during February of last year, with many of the operator’s brand elements implemented into the club’s digital assets, since. A series of joint initiatives have been launched since commencement of the sponsorship partnership.
Several new activities have been implemented in order to be visually more identifiable, such as the offering of unique club experiences as well as bwin having access to Atletico Madrid’s players for marketing and advertising purposes.

Head of marketing at bwin, Pablo Ferreira, has said that the partnership association between bwin and Atletico Madrid was a positive one that was beneficial and in good standing, and that it was the operator’s wish that this be continued in like fashion.
Ferreira also said that it was the perfect point in time to be renewing the partnership agreement, as Atletico Madrid had just scored a third Europa League win, and bwin was there to celebrate along with the team. Like many other casino brands, bwin focuses mainly on sports betting and choosing to partner with a major sports league brand is the perfect avenue to reach new markets as well as establish the brand as a brand associated with the love of sports and the love of gaming.
