Barclays Premier League log toppers Chelsea take on forth placed Arsenal this Sunday at Stamford Bridge in what promises to be an entertaining top of the log clash.

Chelsea have made a superb start to the Premier League this season having won 5 of their first 6 games and drawing 1.

They are currently 3 points in front of Southampton and will fancy their chances of adding distance between themselves and the chasing pack in from of a sold out Bridge crowd.

Arsenal’s form has been patchier with just 2 wins in their first 6 games and Arsene Wenger’s men will be keen to strengthen their position in the top four.

At the back of their minds will be the last corresponding fixture between the two sides at the end of March this year, with Chelsea dishing out a merciless humbling to the Gunners, the final score line reading a miserable 6-0.

Players to watch

Costa has been in superb form for The Blues this season, netting eight times already in this season’s Premier League. The Spanish striker was also scintillating in Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Sporting Lisbon in Tuesday’s Champions League clash.

Jose Mourinho will be pleased that Costa’s troublesome hamstring held up for a full 90 minutes and will look to his playmaker to rattle Arsenal’s defence.

For Arsenal, Jack Wilshere should return following his ankle injury sustained during the 1-1 draw with Spurs and will shore up the Gunner’s midfield.  Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott could also cause headaches with the Chelsea defence with their pace and will need to be at their best to topple Mourinho’s men.

Predictions

Chelsea have had as good a start to the Barclays Premier League as could be hoped and Jose Mourinho will be a happy man at this stage of the season.

Traditionally strong at home, The Blues will be difficult to beat and with their superior strike force, you’d have to feel confident that Chelsea will further cement their place to the top of the table.

Chelsea are 13/20 for the win on Sunday with the draw priced at 11/4. Reflecting the uphill battle Arsenal will face, the Gunner’s are priced a distant 4/1 to take the spoils at Stamford Bridge.
