West Bromwich Albion have had something of an unpredictable season but they don’t look set to pose much of a threat to a dominant Chelsea on Saturday.

West Brom’s recent form (DDLWL) has seen them achieve back-to-back draws against Man United and Crystal Palace, win against Leicester and lose to Newcastle in the Premier League and Bournemouth in the League Cup.

Despite this the team’s performance has been looking increasingly dominant, with striker Saido Berahino’s stellar season adding to the hype. A strong first half against Newcastle their last time out was not enough to take control of the game, however, and the visitors won 2-0.

Berahino makes his debut for England against Scotland on Tuesday so West Brom boss Alan Irvine will be hoping that the 21-year-old returns in good fitness and ready for action against Chelsea.

Centre-back pair Craig Dawson and Joleon Lescott will feel the pressure against Chelsea’s formidable attack and will have their work cut out for them at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea remain unbeaten this season although Liverpool came quite close to causing an upset at Anfield two weeks ago. Liverpool scored the first goal in the clash but goals from Gary Cahill and Diego Costa in the second half saw the Blues win 2-1.

Costa should be on full fitness against West Brom as he wasn’t called up during the international break, so will now be looking to add to the 10 goals he’s scored so far this league season.

Of the last twenty times these two clubs have played each other West Brom have won only twice and Chelsea 15 times.

The more recent head-to-head record between the two sides however is in West Brom’s favour with two wins to the Baggies in 2012, a win for Chelsea in 2013 and draws in both the 2013-14 Premier League fixtures.
