It’s Here: The Football World Cup Kicks Off Tonight

With just a few hours until the World Cup kicks off, we’ve been thinking about the opening game at the Arena Corinthians and reckon the hosts have it in the bag.

Keeping with tradition, hosts Brazil will take part in the first match this evening against Croatia and, despite some impressive performances of late for the underdogs, we reckon Brazil will have this one in the bag.

Odds on Brazil to win tonight’s World Cup opener stand at 3/1 with Betway right now, despite the pressure that is no doubt resting on the team’s shoulders. The nation expects not only an easy win tonight but a World Cup victory for Brazil and, if they keep their heads in the game, no doubt they will deliver.

In preparation for the World Cup, Brazil have played three recent friendlies, all of which they won with a comfortable tally of 10 goals across the games.

Crotaia had a bit of a struggle with its early World Cup qualifiers, but managed to get through after beating Iceland 2:0 on aggregate in the Play-offs.

Where to Put Your Money

Brazil looks like a pretty safe bet in this World Cup opener, but for anyone looking for longer odds then try placing your money on Brazil to score three or more goals, offered at 7/4 with Betway. This might be a riskier move but with Brazil scoring a minimum of three goals in five out of its last nine matches, and top scorers like Neymar and Hulk in great form, you’ve got a good shot on winning!
