Manchester City host Crystal Palace on Saturday as they try to close the gap between them and Chelsea who are now just three points ahead at the top of the table.

In the absence of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic, Samir Nasri will be facing a lot of pressure to score at home this weekend. City’s top scorer Aguero is confirmed to be out with a knee ligament problem for at least six weeks whilst Jovetic and Dzeko are now both confirmed as out of action for several weeks themselves.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men have been on a winning streak lately with seven consecutive wins across all competitions and will be looking for another victory at the Etihad on Saturday.

Veteran Frank Lampard displayed his value to the club last time out against Leicester City, scoring the game’s only goal and the 175th of his career, making him the Premier League’s fourth highest goal scorer of all time. He could be crucial alongside Nasri at the weekend assuming Pellegrini gives the on-loan player a start.

With City low on strikers Crystal Palace will be keen to lay on the pressure this weekend. Neil Warnock has insisted that is men are more than ready for the challenge but commented: “They’re just hitting that form aren’t they? It’s always difficult to go to the Etihad with them being the champions as well and playing some wonderful football.

“But we’ve been playing well. I know we haven’t scored the goals that our play has warranted really. I don’t think we have any fear.

“We realise we’ve really got to be on top of our game if we’re going to come away with anything. We know our goalie’s got to play well, we know our back four has got to play well and we’ve got to create chances.

“So it’s a matter of we’ve all got to be on top form and hope that one or two of their lads are a bit below.”

Palace have lost just one of their last five Premier League games but sit dangerously close to the drop zone with Saturday’s game offering up a much needed three points for the Eagles.

Man City vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips

Man City are obviously the bookies’ favourites in this pairing but considering the lack of firepower it could be a fairly low scoring occasion. Your best bet is a 1-0 home win at 13/2 while Samir Nasri looks good to score first at 13/2, both with Betway.
