Hull City travel to Old Trafford on Saturday and will be hoping to reverse their fortunes as they face the challenge of an in-form Manchester United.

Man United have been in good form in recent weeks with back-to-back wins boosting them up to fourth in the table while Hull City have failed to win a game since earlier October.

The Tigers have suffered three consecutive defeats and are currently sitting one point outside of the relegation zone so will be desperate for a win on Saturday.

United have racked up a tally of nine wins in a row against Hull and will be expecting to make it a tenth after a victory last weekend against Arsenal. The Red Devils travelled to the Emirates stadium where they defeated the Gunners in a shock 2-1 result.

Captain Wayne Rooney will be making life difficult for Hull City, with Tigers’ centre-back Alex Bruce commenting on the striker, “Wayne is always a threat, isn’t he? He’s a great player. I watched the Manchester derby and he nearly scored a great goal with a turn when he ran through, only to be knocked off the ball at the end.

“It shows the quality he has and he’s always capable of scoring a great goal at any given moment, like he did at the KC Stadium last season when he produced a little bit of magic with a 25-yard volley from nowhere that got them back into the game. It’s one thing we have to keep on top of.”

Man United’s Luke Shaw will be side-lined on Saturday due to an injury he sustained at Arsenal last week but Louis Van Gaal will be pleased to have Radamel Falcao return to full training this week after time out for a calf injury.

Van Gaal remains without Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Rafael although Jonny Evans could be fit to play after recovering from an ankle injury.

Hull City’s Gaston Ramirez will be sitting this one out having received a red card on his club debut in Sunday’s defeat by Tottenham. Steve Bruce will be relieved that Mohamed Diame is fully recovered and fit to pick up the slack in midfield.
