QPR and William Hill Ink Betting Booth DealJake Cooper | 14 Aug 2017
It was announced that the Queens Park Rangers have signed an exclusive betting deal with the British sports betting and online gaming company, William Hill. The deal will bring real money betting to almost 18 400 fans each game.
Commercial director for the Queens Park Rangers stated that they have signed a 2 year deal with William Hill. The deal entails the betting company providing special sports betting booths within the QPR Stadium boundaries. Rather than be an eyesore or an intrusion, the booths will only be operating on match days.
He also revealed that bettors will not only be able to place their wagers easily, but there are also a variety of withdrawal options should you win. William Hill facilitates a cash payout to bettors, or they can make use of the excellent EFT options available to get the money paid to your bank account or any one of the 2300 William Hill stores around the country.
Catering To The Fans
Loftus Road Stadium has been the home of the Queens Park Rangers for some time. The QPR franchise is well over a hundred years old and this will be the first time that a service like this has been introduced to the grounds.
The move is not a surprise for many regulars of the stadium. Fans have been requesting these facilities and the QPR management also hope that the betting booths will create a livelier atmosphere in the main areas and also ideally draw more fans to the stadium.
Building The Franchise
The Rangers have had a pretty tough run as a top tier side. The team has been alternating between Premier League honours and Second Tier relegation. The stadium is looking to increase match attendance and in the process bolster the team spirit and this new deal with William Hill may just be the way to do it. Their last Second Tier season almost left them relegated to League 1 after they finished in 18th position with only 53 points to their name.
This introduction may be a saving grace for the team and the stadium but at the same time it is undeniable the impact that online sport betting has had on the industry. QPR fans can today just as easily make bets using their Smartphones so how much these betting booths will help in the long run remains to be seen.
