The 2015 Royal Ascot starts with a bang on Tuesday and the quality of action continues on Wednesday which features four more Group races, including the hotly anticipated Prince of Wales’s Stakes.

The highlight on Day two, the Prince of Wales’s Stakes is run over a mile and a quarter and is open to thoroughbreds aged four and over.

American ace California Chrome (9/1) is among 11 horses left in the race following the confirmation stage.

Last year’s Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes hero will bid to put leading European horses to the sword in the Group One race. The impressive four-year-old was last seen on a racecourse when he finished second to Prince Bishop in the Dubai World Cup at Meydan in March.

After running in the world’s most valuable race, the Art Sherman-trained colt was shipped to Newmarket where he has been housed by Rae Guest ahead of this race.

Kevin Ryan’s The Grey Gatsby (13/2), who was also second at Meydan behind Solow in the Dubai Turf, will try to win his first race since he lowered the colours of Australia in the Irish Champion Stakes in September.

The Grey Gatsby was fourth to Al Kazeem in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh, a race which Free Eagle had to miss due to a head cold.

Dermot Weld reports Free Eagle (3/1) to be A1 again and the four-year-old is ready to run for the first time since he came third in the Qipco Champion Stakes in October.

French-trained Ectot (6/1) is one to watch, while Japanese star Spielberg (11/1) and Criterion (10/1) from Australia add even more global interest.

John Gosden is double-handed with Eagle Top (16/1) and Western Hymn (9/1) while Sir Michael Stoute relies on Cannock Chase (10/1). The Corsican (20/1), trained by David Simcock, completes the list in Wednesday’s race.
