Manchester City will look to boost their hopes of finishing second in the Premier League when they travel to Tottenham on Sunday.

With just a few week left of the season, the tie is bound to be a competitive affair, with both teams challenging for either a second-place finish or a Champions League spot.

City has experienced a real drop in form in the last two months which has knocked them out of the title race and left them 13 points behind Chelsea.

Arsenal are now only behind City on goal difference with a game in hand, while Manchester United could overtake their city rivals with a win over West Brom on Saturday.

City’s title defence could be over before they kick-off at White Hart Lane if Chelsea is to beat Crystal Palace earlier on Sunday, but manager Manuel Pellegrini insist that his team are focused on finishing the campaign on a positive note.

“It will be a very tough game because Tottenham are a good team with good players and a good manager,” he said.

“They play in an offensive way so we must work hard in defence. They need points to qualify for the Europa League and we must try to be near the top of the table. It is two teams who will play well and try to attack.

“We are thinking just to win the next game and, this moment we are two points ahead of United so its just depends on what we can do, if we can reach the second place”

Man City’s form have been average this season, with just seven victories in their 15 league matches in 2015.

They have, however, bounced back at home to beat West Ham 2-0 and then Aston Villa 3-2.

Tottenham come into the game boosted by Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Hull earlier this week. The defeat has opened a chance for them to overtake Brendan Rodger’s side, and if they manage to win on the weekend, they may even have a shot at securing that all important Champions League spot.

However, Spurs have a habit of losing heavily to City, with 15 conceded in their last three meetings.

Midfielder, Nabil Bentaleb says that his team wants to give something back to the fans with a big performance against City on Sunday.

“We want to give something back to the fans and we have the chance to do that against City,” he said.

“We owe it to them, they’ve supported us brilliantly all season.

“It’s a tough game but we know what we’re capable of, especially with the fans right behind us and pushing us forward. We all believe.”

We are expecting a competitive match with goals from both sides. However, with Manchester City’s away form being far from great, we believe that Tottenham have a chance of winning this one on Sunday.
