Roland Garros 2019
About the Tournament
Roland Garros was first played back in 1891 when it was still a local tournament. By 1925 it had gone international, and is now one of the most prestigious European tournaments on the Tennis calendar. It is also the only Grand Slam to be played on a Clay surface. This affects the speed of the ball and how quickly players can move around the court. Subsequently players must adjust their game, relying more on strategy than speed and power.
Dates and Event Details
Roland Garros 2019 will get underway on the 26th of May and conclude with the finals on the 9th of June. As always, the event will be held at the iconic Stade Roland-Garros in Paris, France. All the best players from around the world will be at the event hoping to make it through to the latter stages and a chance to lift the coveted trophy.
Last year in the women’s event it was Simona Halep who picked up yet another Grand Slam title when she defeated Sloan Stephens. In the men’s event, Raphael Nadal showed an impressive display of dominance when he swept aside Dominic Thiem in straight sets.
Where to Bet?
If you are keen to bet on the Roland Garros, you can find great odds and plenty of markets at Dafabet, Betway Sports or Mr Green Sports. For novices, the easiest Tennis bet to place is the outright winner bet on the Men’s or Women’s singles champion. This simply involves which player will win the finals and hoist the trophy. Outright bets can also be placed on the mixed doubles team winners, the men’s doubles and the women’s doubles winners.
During the tournament itself, match bets can be placed on every single game from day one right through to the finals. It is also possible to bet on individual sets or games.
