The 2019 MotoGP season is officially underway, with the first Grand Prix already giving us a taste of what is to come. On the 10th of March, the riders and teams flew into Doha for what was set to be one of the most exciting races of the past 12 months. Under floodlit conditions, Andrea Dovizioso picked of the first official win of the season, pipping his rival Marc Marquez by 0.023 of a second. While it is still early days, we may just be seeing a comeback by the Italian and finally a season where is his not placed second overall.
What to Expect in the US
In a few weeks’ time the teams will be heading to Argentina for the second race of the season. Traditionally, this has been a settling race where riders find their form on the updated bikes and new riders show off their skills. After Argentina, the teams head for Texas USA for the famous Americas Grand Prix. Held at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, the race is one of the major highlights of the year and one that attracts the biggest crowds.
The Americas will an interesting race since Marquez holds the record for the most pole positions and the most wins on the track. He was also winner in 2018 and seems to be well versed in the conditions in Austin. To top it all off, Marquez also set the circuit record, clocking the 5.5km track in 2’03,575.
When is the Race Taking Place?
The 2019 MotoGP Americas Grand Prix will take place on the 14th of April. While the Argentinian Grand Prix is still to come, you have plenty of time to get your bets placed and your strategies organised. If you are new to Grand Prix betting, the easiest bet to place is winning rider. This simply involves predicting which rider will win take the chequered flag and win the race.
