2019 NBA Playoffs

Jake Cooper - 20 Mar 2019

For the past few months we have been treated to some amazing Basketball action from the NBA regular season. But all good things must come to an end, with the season wrapping up on the 10th of April. The good news is that this is that this will be the start of the postseason, and the beginning of the 2019 playoffs. We can look forward to a few more weeks of action and plenty of betting opportunities, which culminate in the Finals.

How the Playoffs Work

If you are not familiar with the NBA and its setup, the playoffs is the term used to describe the set of post season games where the qualifying teams are whittled down to the finalists and eventually the two that will compete in the finals for the Championship title. At the start of the regular season, 15 teams from each conference play games to earn championship points. At the end of the regular season, the top 8 teams from each conference then go through to the playoffs for a shot at the finals.

Eastern Conference Standings

While there is still plenty of game time between now and the 10th of April, two teams have already secured their spot in the playoffs. The Milwaukee Bucks, with their 51-17 record, were the first to qualify for this year’s post season. The Toronto Raptors have also qualified with a record of 48-20. For now the Eastern Conference looks as such:

  • Milwaukee Bucks
  • Toronto Raptors
  • Philadelphia 76’ers
  • Indiana Pacers
  • Boston Celtics
  • Brooklyn Nets
  • Detroit Pistons
  • Miami Heat

Western Conference Standings

So far, none of the Western conference teams have qualified. The top 8 teams at the moment include:

  • Golden State Warriors
  • Denver Nuggets
  • Houston Rockets
  • Oklahoma City Thunder
  • Portland Trail Blazers
  • San Antonio Spurs
  • Los Angeles Clippers
  • Utah Jazz

Post Season Bets

The NBA Playoffs will begin on the 13th of April, and conclude with the Championship game. If you are keen on betting on the playoffs, each game offers great action and you can find the latest odds and more information at Bodog or 888 Sports.

For each game, Money Line bets can be placed on winning team, as well as prop bets on players to score most three pointers, and best defensive or offensive team. It is also possible to place outright bets on the Playoffs where you predict which teams will go through to the quarter finals, the semi finals and the championship finals.
